Hunt 2 Heal currently offers deer hunting weekends in the fall and turkey hunting in the spring.
Will it be rifle or bow hunting?
Yes. Depending on the season and participant preference, both rifle and bow hunting opportunities may be available.
How are hunters selected?
All participants must complete an application through our website or request a paper application by mail. Applications are reviewed after the deadline, and selected participants will be contacted by our team.
Who is eligible to apply?
Applicants must have a physical disability or mobility limitation and demonstrate a need for accessible resources and support to participate in outdoor activities.
How large is the property?
The Hunt 2 Heal property includes 640 private acres designed to provide accessible outdoor experiences in a peaceful natural setting.
Is the property fenced?
No. The property is not fenced and borders the Manistee National Forest, creating a quiet and authentic outdoor environment.
What does a typical hunting weekend include?
Participants and their guests enjoy a full weekend experience that may include lodging, meals, guided hunting opportunities, bonfires, outdoor activities, and time to connect with others in a supportive environment.
How much does it cost to participate?
There is no cost to participants. Hunt 2 Heal provides all weekend experiences free of charge thanks to the support of donors, sponsors, and volunteers.
Do participants need previous hunting experience?
No experience is necessary. Our guides and volunteers are there to provide support, instruction, and encouragement throughout the weekend.
Will participants have a guide?
Yes. Each participant is paired with a volunteer hunting guide who provides assistance throughout the experience. Our team also helps coordinate meals, lodging, accessibility needs, and weekend activities.
Can participants bring a guest or caregiver?
Absolutely. Participants are welcome to bring a caregiver, family member, friend, or significant other. Our accessible guest suites are designed to comfortably accommodate multiple guests.
